i'm in wellington - at the YHA, to be precise. i was only meant to be in wellington for one day, but i missed my flight.
things i learned today:
1. people will think you're weird if you check into a hostel, pay $22 for a bed for the night, then buy $30 worth of internet access so you can spend all night in the computer room instead of actually sleeping in said bed.
2. it's usually a good idea to double-check what time your flight leaves. this especially applies if the flight is the last flight for that day.
3. when it comes to vegetarian options and being able to eat alone without feeling like everyone's staring at you, burger king pwns mcdonalds' face off. i'm sorry, but it's just true.
4. when you want to get on a bus in wellington, make sure you're on the right side of the road. otherwise, you may end up going all the way to upper hutt when you wanted to go to the airport.
5. when travelling alone to a strange city - take a map. it will prevent you having to have directions text messaged to you from slightly annoyed friends in your hometown, and/or trying to sneak a peek at maps in whitcoulls that you can't afford to buy, which makes you look like a hobo.
